Some Light-O-Rama controllers can be used, not only to control lights, but also to accept input that can be used to start a show, or to trigger a sequence or sequences in an interactive show. For example, your display might have several buttons for people to press, each of which will cause Light-O-Rama to play some particular song on demand. In the software, these inputs are referred to as "triggers".
The Hardware Utility can be used to configure and test trigger inputs on you controller. Not all controllers have trigger inputs - see the "Test Triggers" column in the Product Matrix to see which controllers have this feature.
Please note that triggers are not supported on LOR Enhanced networks. If your trigger is on a controller that is on an LOR Enhanced network, you will be able to test it in the Hardware Utility, but it will not work during your show.
You can also generate virtual triggers via an OSC message or the REST API. They have the same effect as a physical trigger from a controller input, but they are not tested here.
To configure and test trigger inputs from your controllers, follow these steps:
•Open the Light-O-Rama Control Panel and navigate to the Hardware Utility section.
•Make selections in the Ports to Scan and Scan For boxes.
•Click the "Scan" button
•Wait for results to appear at the bottom of the page
•Find the device that you are going to configure/test and click the "Configure" button

Click the "Configure" button to access trigger configuration and test
•After clicking the "Configure" button, select the "Triggers (Inputs)" tab.

Trigger configuration and test
•The upper box is used to test the trigger inputs. If you have wired a switch into your controller, you can activate the switch and see the result on the screen. A circle will fill in when a trigger is received. The number of inputs varies by controller, and the screen will reflect the number of inputs available on the selected controller.
•The lower box is used to configure the trigger inputs.
oSet each input to "normally open" or "normally closed" based on the type of switch attached to the input, then click the "Update Switch Behavior" button.
oMost triggers (like switches and pressure mats) are "normally open" - they send a signal only when activated. Others (for example motion detectors) are "normally closed" - they STOP sending a signal when activated.
oIf a trigger is constantly filled in in the top box until you activate the input switch, then you have the input configured the wrong way
