Here is what is new at Light-O-Rama

We have moved again!

June 28th 2007 - We have moved again! Light-O-Rama is now in its 5th year of business and business has expanded so fast that we were forced to move 3 times in our first 5 years. Moving is no fun so this time we picked a place larger than we need. We hope to stay in location #4 for a while! The move is almost complete, some controller assembly is still being performed in location #2. Location #3 is totally closed down.  In the end location #2 will be kept open for assembly of DIY  kits only.

Last year, in the shipping area, people were bumping elbows.

With our new shipping area, most orders received before 2PM Eastern are shipped the same day. We do expect 1-2 day delays during the Christmas season.

Our annual sale is an exception. Orders come in so fast we simply cannot keep up. Expect 1-2 week delays.

Assembly has now become more efficient. More room, allows for longer lines and dedicated work areas.

New production programs and more focused staff will help improve our already excellent quality.

Room to grow!  The area where you see the white cardboard boxes will soon be our new, improved customer support area. It will be in operation for this holiday season.

The new LOR facility is located in the old Chase Paper Bag Mill in South Glens Falls NY. As has happened many times in this area, older businesses just shut down and others move overseas. This old factory set idle for years but today  this 200,000 sq ft complex is an industrial park with 30 active "small" businesses. I have been told that more people are currently employed here than were employed by the Chase Bag Company.

This particular building is old but it is as solid as a rock! Walls 1 ft to 6ft thick! This 40' tall brick, concrete and steel building was built around and under a huge stone train trestle. In our restroom you find yourself under a 25 ft tall stone arch. Today the trestle is gone, only the parts within the buildings remain. With a new infrastructure, new electrical systems, new lighting,  air conditioning, broadband,  etc... I doubt that the men who once worked barefoot in this old building (we have seen the pictures!) would believe it!
