ShowTime Solution: Churches
Churches
have long known the significance of celebrating the Christmas season.
What many have discovered is decorating the church campus with lights is a
great way to involve the membership in a fun family activity while also
making the church look its best for the public.
A staple in many church communities is the Christmas extravaganza and
living Christmas tree. The choir stands on risers nested inside a
giant cone shaped Christmas tree. More and more churches are putting
lights in each level of the tree and now the trend is computerizing the
lights so they flash, fade and twinkle on cue during the performance.
How do you do it? With Light-O-Rama technology, of course.
Churches are also creating sophisticated drive through light shows
around their campus. It's a great way to involve the congregation
while at the same time bringing in people that normally aren't associated
with the church. How do you get more people to come? You make
sure the lightshow is spectacular and word will spread via word of mouth.
At the end of the drive through route there's a tent serving hot chocolate
and people standing around a fire. What a great way to strike up
conversations with strangers.
Many churches want to tell the story about the birth of Jesus by creating
their own productions. Recording the narration, weaving in appropriate
music and having pieces of the nativity display illuminate at just the right times is
always a crowd pleaser. As we are fond of saying: Imagine it, then do it.
Light-O-Rama has been working with churches for years helping them
celebrate the Christmas season and inspire the community. Whether it's
indoors or out, use our resources combined with the talent of your
membership and make something memorable. We can certainly help.
How do you bring lights,
music and motion to a Christmas display at your church? We make it easy. Start
by looking at our typical setups to get a
feel for how you can make your computer flash those lights at your command.
If that makes sense, checkout information about how you can
build your own shows. It's not nearly as
hard as you might think and rest assured we do everything we can to make it
simple for you to install. Then take a look at our
off-the-shelf musical sequences that can
quickly bring the magic to your display. You should even checkout our
starter packages where we do even more of
the configuration work for you.

Parking Lot Based Show
This is a drive through display spanning more
than 10 acres of a parking lot with
a one mile long vehicle path (look carefully for
the car tail lights driving through.) Music was arranged, performed and
recorded by Shadrack of Tennessee. This display uses over
1,600 Light-O-Rama channels spanning four data networks. Display elements include a 70 foot tall
megatree of lights as well as a 70 foot tall vertical
leaper. LED technology was deployed
throughout using less energy than if the parking
lot general lighting had been left on. This was one of
the three drive through displays setup by Shadrack in 2009.

Family Experience
Zoos are the perfect venue for seasonal light
shows but the same ideas can be applied to your
church campus. By providing a family friendly and
safe environment, what a great way to get your
community in the holiday spirit. Light-O-Rama controllers can
be used to animate simple design pieces or used
to coordinate everything.
Imagine it, then do it!
